Finals Results
NSHoSeo_Tassadar(P) Vs. ZeNEXPuzzle(P)
(Kim, Jung-Hoon) (Kim, Sang-Joon)
Game 1
Map: Dual Sight
Game one of these GSL Code:A finals lasted about 6 min as Tassadar through the use of good scouting and excellent micro was able to take game:1 with a perfectly executed 4gate rush.
Game 2
Map: Tal’Darim Altar
On a map famous for only 4gate opening is Protoss mirror match-ups I was surpised seeing Puzzle going for a 3 Stalker opening clearly trying to blind counter Tassadar’s 4gate. Unfortunately as soon as Tassadar saw the 3 stalkers he threw down 2 pylons and the Stalkers were unable to destroy both. When Tassadar’s units came warping in Puzzle base a 5min micro battle had Tassadar come out the victor with faster warp ins a better Stalker micro.
Game:3
Map Crevasse
As game 3 began both players went for a 4gate opening but as the first Stalkers and Zealots met in the middle of the map the forward pylons were never put up. Puzzle responded by immediately starting a Twilight Counsel and rushed up to blink while Tassadar just massed units. When blink finished Puzzle, with use of some excellent blink micro, broke through the front door of Tassader and forced the GG.
Game 4
Map: Crossfire SE
Again, as is common in PVP, we see that both players open up with a 4gate Tassadar’s warp tech was once again a bit faster but due to some bad micro Puzzle was able to kill to many of Tassadar’s Stalkers and was able to construct a hidden pylon in his base allowing him to push back with his 4gate and tie the match up and 2 games apiece.
Game 5
Map: Terminus RE
Puzzle, maybe thinking he had his opponent figured out opened up with another 4gate, while Tassadar broke his pattern and open up 3gate/robo. When puzzle realized this he threw down his Robo for observers, and a Twilight teching straight up to Blink Stalkers. Tassadar on the other hand was cranking out the Collossi getting up to 4 at one point. Unfortunately for Tassdar Puzzle got an earlier expo and with those extra resources was able to have enough Blink Stalkers to flank Tassdars army and crushed it as Tassdar was expanding. 3-2 Puzzle going into game 6.
Game:6
Map Xel’Naga Fortress
Up against the ropes Tassadar opens with a 4gate but Puzzle does as well, all be it a bit slower. As Tassdar’s army advanced Puzzle was able to force a cancel on the first Pylon and forced Tassadar to back up, and in a show of great decision making Puzzle cancelled his 4th gate realizing the rush had been stopped and immediately built a Robo. His rush having been stopped Tassadar threw down his Twilight and went straight up to Blink, but Puzzle already had an Immortal out at the top of his ramp and with more Immortals being made was able to hold off Tassadar’s very aggressive Blink play. Losing too much in his first attacks Tassadar had no expo and no Robo when Puzzle pushed down with his own Blink Stalkers and cleaned up the army all but 2 of his Stalkers. Knowing he was done Tassadar GG’ed and with that Puzzle had battle back from an early 2-0 start to become GSL Code:A Champion.
