Sports Entertainment Just Got Bigger, Badder, and Better…
Today WWE and THQ are proud to announce that in November of 2011 fans can bring home the all new WWE’12 for their favorite console. Starting back in 2000 on the Playstation under the name “SMACKDOWN” and later became “RAW vs SMACKDOWN” in 2006 for the Playstation 2, 2007 for the XBOX and PS2, and in 2008 “Raw vs Smackdown” for all major platforms. The series continued to grow till 2010 increasing realism and enjoyment for the fans who have followed the series since it’s start.

Like any good sports gaming platform there comes a time when change is needed, and although THQ has brought out different forms of “WRESTLEMANIA” games, they needed something bigger. Earlier in 2010 that was challenge accepted as they brought out “WWE ALL STARS”. I had the pleasure of picking up this game where they changed the move sets, they spent less time on long drawn out enterances (which are generally only cool and amazing the first 4 times you show them off to your friends, then you use them more as a buffer to run for snacks) and took the realism out of the character looks. Now granted some wrestlers like the Ultimate Warrior look just like their characters, but for the most part “WWE A S” was all about bringing a fun cartoonish flavour into the hands of the one controlling the squared circle. So what was going on while this game was being created? Well naturally THQ was working on what would be the next generation for WWE gaming fans.

E3 is less than a week away and THQ is going to be bringing the new “WWE’12″ to the main platform. With Randy Orton (3rd generation superstar) on the cover, we are going back to the realistic look and style fans have evolved with. You want to watch wrestling on the TV, and for those nights when it cannot be found on the small screen, it is game on.
“With vital changes to core gameplay, innovative feature support and an incredibly striking presentation, the WWE simulation experience is back with WWE ’12,” said Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President, Core Games, THQ. “At E3 2011, this is the definitive WWE videogame experience you do not want to miss.”
